French BFF and I reserve our weekend mornings for running and brunch. After an exhilarating long run, we brought our hubbies to brunch with us at Petite Abeille, a Belgian restaurant in Union Square in New York City.
Our hubbies ordered their own dishes. French BFF and I selected two dishes to share.
Our first dish was the Chicken & Waffle.
Nice presentation, and we loved the contrast of savory (from the chicken) and sweet (from the maple syrup). The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and perfectly cooked. We regretted sharing as we could not stop eating this delicious meat! We made sure that there weren’t any morsels left on the plate.
The second dish that we enjoyed was the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict.
Divine! The smoked salmon was very well-sliced and gently melted in my mouth with each bite. I really liked the subtle tastes of smokey and salty on my tongue. French BFF and I enjoyed the tanginess of the creamy Hollandaise sauce.
Petite Abeille is small, but pleasant and cozy. Brunch is very popular on weekends, and there’s a very long wait (up to more than an hour). When my friends and I decide to go, we usually have a snack beforehand and use the wait time to talk and catch up. It’s the right place to get close and converse over a great meal with friends.
