Whenever I’m in deep Brooklyn, I make sure to stop by Liu’s Shanghai for family-style, Shanghainese food that always hits the spot. I took my Manhattan and Prospect Park friends here, and they were blown away by the deliciousness and comfortness by the food. It was defintitley worth the long Q train ride for them.

Lunar New Year Dinner at Old Shanghai Deluxe
Happy Lunar New Year!
After a long day filled with hosting and coordinating New Year activities for our families and communities, my Chinese and Vietnamese friends and I were finally able to sit down, eat and enjoy the first day of a prosperous year ahead of us!
We went to one of our favorite spots in Chinatown in NYC, Old Shanghai Deluxe. We ordered several dishes that we loved from the restaurant and must have for this holiday.
A Lunar New Year dinner must always have dumplings, and we were craving for the restaurant’s Soup Dumplings.
Hand-Pulled Noodles & Hand-Made Dumplings at Lao Bei Fang
Happy New Year! Hello, 2016!
Every New Year’s Day, Hubby and I go out to eat dumplings. Even though my family is Vietnamese and his is Taiwanese, we grew up with the tradition of eating dumplings on New Year’s Day.
It’s New Years’ Day and cold outside – Perfect for a bowl of noodle soup and dumplings. We went to Lao Bei Fang in Elmhurst.
