When my sweet tooth calls my name, I typically don’t opt for donuts. But this time, I did because I learned about a place called Gonutz for Donuts in Fremont, CA that had amazing decorated donuts. I had to check them out.
With my Foodie BFF and fellow foodies in San Francisco, I went to Sorrel Restaurant for their Fourth Annual White Truffle and Barolo Dinner. Hearing so much about Chef Alexander Hong and Sorrel, I was very excited to taste all what they had to offer, and a few highlights of the tasting menu really stood out for me that night.
Like any foodie and fan of Chef Thomas Keller, The French Laundry has been at the top of my list of Michelin star restaurants. After fully paying off one of my student loans, I decided to take the plunge and treat myself by joining my “Foodie” BFF and a group fellow foodies in SF for Chef’s Tasting Menu at The French Laundry in Yountville in Napa Valley, CA.
Chef Tu David Phu (of An: A Vietnamese Experience) teamed up with Chef Keone Koki (of Commis) and Chef Edward Martinez of (Lazy Bear) and hence T.E.K. at AlaMar Kitchen & Bar in Oakland, CA. Foodies in the San Francisco Bay Area and fans of these chefs congregated together for this amazing, unique dining experience.
We began our meal on a high note with a cocktail, made by Chef Nelson German of AlaMar. What a special treat to have a cocktail made by the chef himself! If you love blueberries like me, then you will love this! The amount of sweetness was just right, and it tasted like a delicious, “liquored up” blueberry juice. The mint made the drink refreshing.
Married to a Taiwanese guy, I discovered the fun and deliciousness of Hot Pot. So when Hubby told me that we would be going out with our Taiwanese couple friends for Hot Pot, I expected going to someone’s home for some fun, communal cooking. I even asked Hubby if we should drop by the Asian market to bring anything. He laughed and said that we were going to a restaurant for Hot Pot and that this isn’t new to him but will be for me.
Hubby and I had the pleasure to attend AN‘s March 4th One Year Anniversary in Oakland, CA with my fellow Foodie friends. It was also my and hubby’s first Pop-Up Dining experience ever. Heard of the amazing Chef Tu and lovers of Vietnamese food, we were very excited about this experience! We were so impressed by what we were going to sample in the evening:
